At Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, our teachers earn significantly less than their counterparts at even the lowest-paying public school in Santa Barbara County. Yet, the average tenure of our faculty is an incredible 15 years, a testament to their deep commitment to our students and school community.
While the Archdiocese contributes 3% of each teacher’s annual salary (an average of $1,500 per year) to a retirement fund, this amount is modest and paid out as a lump sum upon retirement.
To attract and retain the exceptional educators our children deserve, we must ensure that OLMCS teachers can earn a livable, competitive salary and have the means to build a secure retirement. Your support helps make this possible.
